The XTRASORB® HCS Dressing features a twofold mode of action, it acts as a hydrogel by hydrating dry to lightly exuding wounds and it also acts as a hydrocolloid by absorbing moderate amounts of exudates. This dressing can absorb considerably more exudates compared to other hydrocolloid dressings.

The dressing is formed of one half water /glycerin mix for hydration, and half a Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (Sodium CMC) / super absorbent polymer blend for high gelling and absorption. When fluid enters the dressing it creates a gel that stays in place not leaving a messy residue in the wound bed.

Some great features include a cooling sensation upon application, transparent dressing for easy observation, gelatin free leaving no odor, conformable to even hard to dress areas of the skin.

The dressing can be used on a variety of chronic and acute wounds including pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, arterial ulcers, postoperative wounds, donor sites, traumatic wounds.
