Overview for Conmed 60-7550-120 System 7550 Electrosurgical Generator with ABC Technology

The ConMed System 7550 with ABC Technology is a revolutionary electrosurgical generator which allows physicians to push the art of surgery to new heights. It has been designed specifically for rapid hemostasis for reduced blood loss and surgical time and plume, and has applications in open, laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgery. System 7550 gives surgeons the benefit of state-of-the-art technology including remote power control, pulse cut, promgrammable specialized modes, precautionary safety features and clinical results.

ABC technology: Innovative ABC technology has been proven to help lessen blood loss and significantly reduce surgical time and visible electrosurgical plume. Its unmatched hemostatis results in immediate reduction of tissue carbonization and thermal penetration.

State-of-the-art electrosurgial technology: System 7750 is a fully featured electrosurgical unit with a range of modes, designed to facilitate every surgical need. The monopolar mode has nine levels of increasing hemostasis for unparalelled control and high-level performance during cutting. There are several different modes used to deliver energy to body tissue: pure cut, blended cut, dessication and fulguration. Pure cut is used for dissection, and uses a high current to vaporize cells just before the surgeon's tool incises the skin. Blended cut allows for slow interval coagulation at a lower temperature than pure cut, helping to control bleeding even as dissection occurs. Dessciation uses momentary, pinpointed current to stop local bleeding and limit necrosis to the surface layers of tissue. Fulguration allows for wider coagulation with diminished thermal penetration, helping to control larger bleeds and preventing blood flow into areas from which lesions have been removed.

Specialty modes: As well as the basic electrosurgical modes above, this unit has several specialty modes which have been designed to eliminate elements of guess work and streamline the surgical process. Auto mode utilizes inbuilt programming to optimize the integration of power and gas for open procedures; Endo mode is similarly designed for use during laparoscopic and gastrointestinal surgery. Beyond these pre-set modes, Manual mode allows the surgeon to fine-tune power and flow rates to achieve unique levels of performance and hemostasis.

Easy-to-use: This electrosurgical unit has been designed for the easiest possible and least stressful use in a pressurized surgical environment. It features an intuitive control panel with large, easy-to-read LED displays. The nine programmable memory settings reduce set up time, helping to streamline the surgical process. There are dual-hand controls for simultaneous use, and surgeons can modify the electrosurgical effect from within the sterile field by adjusting power levels with a standard electrosurgical pencil.

Patient safety: This electrosurgical unit features precautionary patient safety features, to provide the safest possible operating environment for patients. ARM (automatic return monitoring) monitors the patient/pad interface and instantly interrupts power delivery and gas flow if a pad fault condition occurs. Isolated technology helps reduce the potential for alternate site burns.
