Pre-set and programmable modes: System 5000 has several easy-to-use pre-set specialty modes, and memory space for surgeons to set their own preferences. It has nine programmable memory settings, allowing surgeons to program in their preferred settings: this reduces set up time, helping to streamling the surgical process. The pre-programmed modes establish a precise baseline of safe energy output, and include: general, fluid, laparoscopic, pulse cut, pulse coagulation, micro bipolar and macro bipolar modes. These functions make System 5000 ideal for use in general surgery, orthopedics, urology, cardiology, obstetrics-gynacology, plastic surgery and otolarynology.
Patient safety: System 5000 offers two unique modes which have been designed with maximized safety in mind. Where standard generators only limit the voltage output in Cut Mode, System 5000's Lap Mode effectively limits the voltage to less than 2,700 in all monopolar modes. This significantly reduces the risk of coupling and accidental burns during laparoscopic and robotic surgery, increasing patient safety. System 5000 also features a Pulse Coag Mode which provides pulsing bursts of coagulation energy. This energy pulses every 2.5 milliseconds to provide precise hemostasis, with far less carbonization of tissue than is caused by standard coagulation. This minimization of blood loss works to further increase patient safety.
Dynamic Response Technology: Proprietary Dynamic Response Technology has been designed to maximize the clinical effects offered by System 5000. It samples the current and voltage 450,000 times per second and continually synchronizes them, allowing it to respond to tissue impedance in under 10 milliseconds. This enables a high level of efficiency, as the system achieves optimized output quickly and accurately. This ensures that only the precise voltage needed is safely delivered to each tissue type.
Easy to use: System 5000's ergonomic design and intuitive interface have been designed for easy, stress-free use in the high-pressured surgical environment. The durable electrosurgical unit includes user-programmed memory settings, which are easy to switch for different procedures or surgeons.
Compatability: System 5000 meets the procedure-specific energy output required for robotic surgery, and has been formally validated for use with the Da Vinci Surgical System. A custom energy activation cable seamlessly connects the two advanced pieces of euqipment, and this compatibility provides a sophisticated, minimally invasive option for performing major surgery.
Smoke evacuation: System 5000 can be configured to include ConMed's AER DEFENSE smoke evacuation system. When the energy is activated, it automatically triggers smoke evacuation and clears the air in theatre, a critical part of safe electrosurgery. The GoldVac & ClearVac smoke evacuation pencils, and ConMed laparoscopic tubing can be effectively used with this great feature.
Storage space: System 5000 includes a mounting pedestal and upper and lower storage baskets, and can be configured to include a saddlebag for additional storage. The huge amount of storage space included allows for a clean, organized surgical environment with all necessary equipment stored neatly on-hand.
