Sharpoint™ PLUS PolySyn™ Absorbable Braided Sutures with Taper Point Needles, 1/2 Circle, are synthetic, braided, coated sutures used primarily in Skin Closure, OB/Gyn, Urology, and Gastrointestinal procedures.

Sharpoint™ PolySyn™ Sutures consistently meet the demands of surgery professionals worldwide. Packaged in dry or in wetting solution, these sutures are strong and sharp, thus they easily penetrate the skin. PolySyn™ Sutures are equivalent to Ethicon VICRYL™ and Polysorb™/ Dexon™.

Made from polyglycolic acid, these sutures have a proprietary coating, which ensures superior smoothness and low friction for less tissue drag. Excellent for closure of wounds during the critical wound healing period. Mass absorption is essentially complete between 50 and 90 days.

PolySyn™ Sutures are available as undyed or violet in color, in various sizes. Size 0 is used for closure of the fascia layer in abdominal surgery, or for knee, hip and back surgery. Sizes 2-0 and 3-0 are used for closure of muscle layers or bowel repair. Size 4-0 is used in larger vessel repair or skin closure, while size 6-0 is for vascular graft sewing. These sutures feature Taper Point Needles, characterized by a round shaft that can either be straight or curved. It has no cutting edge. Excellent for fascia, gastrointestinal, vascular, and other soft tissue beneath the skin. Available in 12 per box.
