The CP Medical Polypro® Polypropylene Non-Absorbable Sutures with Taper Point Needles, 1/2 Circle are sterile, synthetic, surgical sutures indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including cardiovascular, ophthalmic, and neurological surgery.

Polypro® Sutures are made of monofilament polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin.  Polypropylene is characterised by uniform suture diameter, minimal memory, maximum flexibility, reduced fraying, excellent security and strength, and consistent, snug and flattened knots. Being non-absorbable, Polypro® Sutures do not exhibit any significant change in strength retention, in vivo. CP Medical Polypro® Sutures are equivalent to Ethicon® PROLENE®, Look® Polypropylene, Sharpoint® Polypropylene, and Covidien® Surgilene®.

These Polypropylene sutures are dyed blue, and are available in various suture sizes. Sizes 0 and 1 are best used for closure of the fascia layer in abdominal surgery, or for knee, hip and back surgery; sizes 2-0 and 3-0 are for closure of muscle layers or bowel repair; 4-0 and 5-0 are great for larger vessel repair; while 6-0 is best for use in vascular graft sewing.

These sutures feature taper point needles, which have a blunt point and no cutting edge. This needle is designed for separating tissue fibres rather than for cutting. Available in 12 per box. Proudly made in the USA.
