The Onyx II Pulse Oximeter is certified compliant to the Continua™ Version One Design Guidelines. It is used with Microsoft HealthVault which is a free online platform for communicating and receiving data for personal health management purposes. A Bluetooth Adapter and a 32 or 64 Bit Windows operating system (XP, Vista, Windows 7) are required to enable it to connect to the HealthVault software.
The Onyx II is incredibly accurate and precise with its measurements. It has SmartPoint technology which determines what oximetry values to use for analysis. It is very durable for the home care environment. It has Power Saver technology that adjusts transmitted power based on distance from the main unit. It allows for approximately 600 spot checks on 2 AAA batteries. It has great memory storage for storing up to 20 single point measurements so that patients can take measurements outside their home and have the data time-stamped for sending it out later on.
