MEDIHONEY® Calcium Alginate Rope is a honey based dressing used for moderate to heavy exuding wounds. It contains Active Leptospermum Honey from New Zealand, which possesses exclusive qualities that make them ideal for the management of chronic and acute wounds and burns.

The active leptospermum honey helps promote an optimal healing environment. It has a low pH, and provides a lower overall wound pH, which is helpful to chronic wounds. The honey is also highly osmotic, which helps the debridement process and keeps the wound bed clean. The dressing can be used in a variety of situations including being used before, during, and after negative pressure applications, and as cover dressings for skin grafts and skin substitutes.

The dressing can be used for all stages of wound healing and as wound bed preparation since it is non-toxic. The dressing is indicated for use with traumatic and surgical wounds, diabetic foot ulcers, donor sites, pressure ulcers (I-IV), 1^st and 2^nd degree burns, and a variety of ulcer types.
