DAR Mechanical Filter

DAR™ Mechanical Filters from Medtronic are highly-efficient filters that offer excellent bacterial and viral filtration efficiency. These mechanical filters work via a hydrophobic membrane that prevents cross contamination caused by aerosolized droplets. DAR filters come with an end tidal CO2 sampling port, which offers easy access for airway gas monitoring. These filters come in three different models: Small, Compact, and Large, with an additional Large model that does not feature the end tidal CO2 sampling port.

Medtronic DAR Mechanical Filters are tested for HIV, Hep C, and TBC filtration to ensure top-quality performance. They are very lightweight, and can greatly reduce dead space on any respiratory circuit. They also help reduce chances of bacterial colonization and filter blockage by restricting the passage of liquid through the membrane. The filters also feature a filter media that traps heat and moisture from expired airflow to warm and humidify inspired airflow.

Indications

Single-patient use. For anesthetized patients as well as respiratory care patients that require a breathing circuit.

The filter needs to be replaced at least once every 24 hours.
