Overview for ThermoFisher FAB1100CW Accula Flu A/B Test Kit - 25/Bx

The Thermofisher Scientific Accula Flu A/B Test Kit is used by healthcare professionals to provide an easy and convenient point-of-care testing of Influenza A or B virus in a symptomatic patient. This test is used with the Accula Dock (which is sold separately), utilizing polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and lateral flow technologies for accurate detection of Influenza viral RNA through nasal swabbing. This rapid test is authorized by FDA for emergency use only, and can only be used by healthcare professionals who are trained to administer rapid tests.

Safe & Reliable Kit: Acquired per box (25 kits/box), each Mesa Biotech Accula Flu Test Kit includes a Flu A/B test cassette with buffer solution vial, transfer pipette, and sterile collection swab, while two (2) sets of control swabs (1 positive Flu A and 1 Positive Flu B), a quick reference guide, and an instruction for use insert are inside the package. Accula Dock for testing, and additional control kits (if needed) are sold separately.

Efficient & Accurate Testing: Results can be obtained by collecting the specimen via nasal swab (approximately 1 inch into the patient's nostril) , and mixing it into the buffer solution (rotate 5 times and rubbing the swab on the walls of the vial). Immediate testing on the Accula dock can be done, but If immediate testing is not possible, the eluted sample in the Accula buffer may be stored at room temperature (15°C - 30°C, 59°F - 86°F) for up to 2 hours. The sample may be refrigerated at 2°C - 8°C and tested within 24 hours from the time of collection, or may be stored for up to 1 week at -20°C.

Before using the Accula dock, make sure that the solution is at room temperature to obtain an accurate result. Set up the Accula Dock based on the instructions on the device and once it’s ready and have the test cassette inserted, immediately place the specimen to the sterile test cassette using the pipette. After 30 minutes, simply remove the cassette from the dock and you can now read the results - with positive results showing any shade of Blue at the "C" and the "Flu A" or "B" section (absence of line at "C" but presence at "Flu A and/or B" also depicts a positive result), and a negative result will only contain a Blue Test Line at the "C" position.
