Select an Ophthalmoscope
PanOptic™ Ophthalmoscope (WEL11820)
The revolutionary PanOptic provides easy entry into the eye, together with a wider field of view to more easily observe conditions such as hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, and papilledema. It offers a 5x larger view of the fundus and a 25º field of view versus standard ophthalmoscopes' 5º field of view. Its greater working distance improves comfort for both the practitioner and patient, its patented Glare Extinguishment System prevents interference from unwanted glare and reflections, and its LED lamp provides bright, white light. It helps detect corneal abrasions with cobalt blue filter and corneal viewing lens. It is compatible with all existing Welch Allyn 3.5v power sources for your convenience.

Coaxial Ophthalmoscope (WEL11720)
Welch Allyn Coaxial ophthalmoscopes incorporate a patented coaxial optical system, allowing the axis of illumination to be coincidental with the axis of vision into the retina, thereby eliminating annoying shadows and facilitating examination through virtually any size pupil or vitreous disorder. The fundus and interior anatomy of the eye are viewed with precision and clarity.
The Welch Allyn 3.5 Coaxial Ophthalmoscope features 28 viewing lenses, a range of €“25 to +40 diopters, and fast, accurate one-hand selection. This helps compensate for patient or examiner refractive error. It offers an additional crossed linear polarizing filter/red-free filter switch that increases the versatility of this instrument. When used in conjunction with available apertures, the coaxial ophthalmoscope yields 18 possible apertures.
The illuminated lens dial enables the practitioner to check the lens being used for a particular examination even in a darkened examination room, while the brow rest allows the practitioner to use his/her own eyeglasses comfortably and safely. It also steadies the instrument while in use.
In addition to examination of the fundus, the coaxial ophthalmoscope is a useful diagnostic aid in studying other ocular structures. The light beam can be used to illuminate the cornea and the iris for detecting foreign bodies in the cornea and irregularities of the pupil.
