Puritan's 6" Sterile Foam Applicator with Hollow Polystyrene Handle in Dry Transport Device with Molded Base is tipped with 100ppi medical grade polyurethane foam and bonded securely to a hollow polystyrene handle that snaps when bent at a 90° angle. It comes packed in a dry transport device for ease in transport to the lab and features a molded base that holds the tip in the center of the tube to avoid loss of sample material.

The polyurethane foam has excellent collection and release properties, and can be used dry or with media. It is lint and residue free. Each swab is individually wrapped.

This swab is designed for use in pediatrics, opthalmology, veterinary care and oropharyngeal applications. Specific uses include general specimen collection for testing and screening, as a buccal swab and DNA testing.
