The Amerex 492 350 lbs Wheeled Regular Dry Chemical Direct Pressure Fire Extinguisher (Class B:C) is a large-capacity, nitrogen-operated extinguisher for facilities with extra-high risks of large-scale Class B (flammable liquid/gas) and C (electrical equipment) fires. It uses 350 lbs of Regular Dry Chemical, a siliconized sodium bicarbonate-based agent, to suppress as much as 320 square feet of Class B fires. The Amerex 492 is easy to transport using the wheeled carriage, making it ideal for large commercial and industrial spaces where mobile, high-capacity extinguishers are needed, such as oil refineries, construction sites, parking lots, and loading docks.
Reliable fire suppressant. Regular dry chemical is a free-flowing and non-caking agent that separates the fuel from the oxygen by covering it with a thin layer of dust. The fire is smothered and effectively knocked down. This agent also interrupts the chemical reaction of the fire. When discharged, the Amerex 492 can reach 30 to 40 feet and last for 70 seconds. The agent cylinder, nitrogen cylinder, carriage, and hose rack are made of heavy-duty stainless steel painted with a corrosion-resistant finish. It also has stainless-steel collars, a chrome-plated brass cap, brass hose fittings, and a live swivel on the discharge valve. This extinguisher is safe to use at temperatures ranging from -65º to 120º.
