Dopplex Intraoperative Probes have been designed to aid surgeons in performing high quality, safe surgery. Dopplex ultrasound probes allow surgeons to confirm the presence of active blood flow before closing the surgical site, helping avoid the need for secondary intervention or reoperation.
Surgical success: Doppler ultrasound probes give surgeons immediate evidence of successful vascular reconstruction by instantaneously confirming resumed blood flow, before closing the surgical site. As well as avoiding the practical implications of secondary intervention, such as the cost and time of reoperation, the use of Dopplex probes also reduces the risk of prolonged ischemia. Probes can also be used to locate small vessels in skin flap planning and during cosmetic procedures.
Multifunctional probes: These probes have uses in an wide array of surgical procedures, including: carotid endarterectomy, femoro-popliteal bypass, in-situ femoro-distal bypass, detection of flow in arteriovenous fistulae, coronary artery bypass grafts, renal and hepatic transplantation, renal blood flow confirmation post aortic aneurysm repair, cosmetic surgery and skin flap surgery.
Reliable equipment: These probes function at 8MHz, providing reliable flow detection even in native vessels and many prosthetic grafts.
Sterilizable: Dopplex intraoperative probes are supplied non-sterile, and are durable enough to be sterilized multiple times. They are autoclavable, and can also be treated with ethylene oxide or by Steris System 1.
User friendly: These probes must be used with a Dopplex Doppler device; their use with different models provide audible, visual and hard copy confirmation of blood flow within the surgical site. When used with MD2, RD2 or MD200 and the appropriate printer and software packages, bi-directional velocity waveform printouts can be obtained. They have been designed for simple operation, and feature an electronic adapter which resists interference from diathermy, and connects to any Vascular Dopplex Advanced Pocket Doppler. The unique connector system is easy to clean, helping keep the sterile field intact. Additionally, the flexible cable does not kink or tangle when in use. Probes are 130mm long and 5mm in diameter.
D900 Doppler: Dopplex D900 is a low-cost, non-directional Doppler which features audio-only response. It is primarily used for ABPI measurements and leg ulcer management. It has excellent audio capabilities, which allow blood flow and fetal heart sounds to be heard clearly.
MD2 Doppler: Dopplex MD2 is a highly advanced, bi-directional pocket Doppler, which features enhanced audio ouput and has been designed for high-level vascular assessment and detecting peripheral arterial disease. It can be linked to the Reporter software package for high quality waveform reports, or to Dopplex Printa for single waveform recordings.
SD2 Doppler: Dopplex SD2 has been designed for vascular specialists wishing to conduct advanced Doppler studies. It provides bi-directional vascular information, including a display of flow direction. It is ideal for ABPI assessment and features enhanced stereo output.
