The COULTER® diff AC•T Tainer™ Reagent Kit includes COULTER Balanced Electrolyte Solution for use as an isotonic buffered diluent for counting and sizing blood cells. It should be used with the COULTER A^C•T diff™ and COULTER A^C•T diff 2™ hematology analyzers only.

In order to analyze a whole blood cell sample it needs to be diluted. This reagent dilutes a sample to count and size blood cells. It acts as an isotonic buffered diluent allowing the sample to be analyzed for different blood cell types, like red blood cells and platelets.

A lytic reagent is helpful in the quantitative determination of hemoglobin. It also records the leukocytes (white blood cells) and figures out the origin of the leukocyte subpopulations. The leukocytes are divided into three populations (lymphocytes, mononuclear cells, and granulocytes).
