The main locking mechanism is incredibly easy to use; simply push it onto the bed or toilet attachment and the lock automatically opens and latches on, providing a firm hold on the wheelchair. Furthermore, the main locking device folds unobtrusively back into the wheelchair when not in use, preventing it from catching on other items or bumping furniture or people.
The complete system consists of the main Translock™ latching device, wheelchair attachment and universal bed, toilet, and wall attachments. All attachments are crafted of durable metal and antimicrobial resin. The height-adjustable bed attachment is easily installed on any standard bed frame. The durable, sanitary toilet attachment consists of a bracket and padded clamp that is placed over the toilet rim and tightened with the included nut and wrench. The wall attachment is height-adjustable and may be attached any flat surface, including wood, metal, and cement.
The Translock™ latch may be mounted directly onto the wall or bed attachment post, allowing it to lock securely onto the wheelchair frame itself, eliminating the need for the chair attachment. The chair attachment is essential, however, when one or multiple users use more than one attachment. The system's versatility allows it to be used in home, rehabilitation, assisted living, nursing, medical, and other settings.
