Sprague Stethoscope

The Sprague stethoscope not only has the usual binaurals and an earpiece like a standard stethoscope, but it includes different chest piece fittings: two diaphragms for adults or children and three bell pieces. The large diaphragm is for adults and filters out low frequencies while accentuating higher ranges of sound. The small diaphragm is used in children and is used to detect high-pitch murmurs. The bells detect low to medium pitched sounds and the different size bells relates to size of the patient. Some great features of the Sprague stethoscope include, a zinc chestpiece construction, which provides the acoustic performance of stainless steel without the cost. A convertible traditional diaphragm/bell chestpiece provides versatility for use with multiple patients and is made of the time proven design for detecting the broadest possible range of high and low frequency sounds. A double tube configuration provides enhanced acoustic performance and stereo separation. The patented valve mechanism virtually eliminates acoustic leakage found on competing sprague designs.
